Wedding Week 2024 - Day 4

Posted by Natasha Tung on

Welcome back to Wedding Week - that time of year when we bask in the joy of all things fun and fancy using Peony Patterns! Whether you're creating outfits for a wedding, high tea, fancy dress party, baptism, first communion, or other religious event, you're sure to find some inspiration this week!

If you're just joining us, be sure to check our MondayTuesday, and Wednesday posts as well!

This year we’re grateful to our friends at Farmhouse Fabrics who have graciously sponsored the looks of five of our sewists! Farmhouse Fabrics is THE place you want to shop in the US for all things heirloom: laces, organdy, Liberty of London, Swiss voile, linen – you will adore their collection!

Be sure to check into the Peony Patterns Facebook Group each day to see more photos from each of these talented artists!

Finally, don't forget to take advantage of our pattern sale - get 30% off until Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Laura Hilton @LittleBonnieBelle
We always get so excited to see what Laura creates! Laura envisioned a soft bridal party look for her daughter that would work well for more of a junior bridesmaid. It's such a lovely, whimsy look!

Patterns used:

Myrtle with the lengths from the Juniper maxi skirt.
Fabric used:
Main: embellished champagne bobbinette; Layers: blossom bobbinette, peach bobbinette, soft pink satin cotton batiste; Lining: nude cotton batiste. All the different colors and layers create a soft blush dress with beautiful depth. (Farmhouse Fabrics)

Jess Dekker @jessdekker1

Jess was inspired by the beautiful Harper dress from Oui Babe. Her creation is simply stunning and we know every little girl will want to wear her own wedding dress to all.the.things!

Patterns used:

Juniper with closed straps and hand sewn ties (she did this to prevent the tulle stretching out)

Fabric used:

Satin and tulle (Spotlight)

Sherrel Williams @eliza.and.company

Sherrel loved testing the new Olive jumpsuit and knew she wanted to make another. Wedding Week was the perfect opportunity to make a fancier Olive! ISherrel's daughter thinks pants are “boring” so she added a peplum skirt (in her culture, peplums are everything🙌🏾). Also, the v-neck faux wrap helps with easy potty time. The shoulder straps slip on and off.

Patterns used:

Modified Olive

Fabric used:

Quilting cotton, tulle and beaded lace (JoAnn)

Angelique Domasig @pinkpiablythe

Angelique's daughter really looooves maxi dresses combined with long sleeves, so she decided Willow's sweetheart bodice and tieback would be perfect for this outfit. Her creation is beautiful and we love that it checked off each of her daughter's dreams for a dress!

Patterns used:

Willow bodice and skirt (lengthened) with Jasmine long sleeves

Fabric used:

Shiny silky satin for main fabric and cotton for lining from a local fabric shop in Bahrain.

Jess @mcmamamade

Jess' eldest daughter inspired her look for Wedding Week! She prefers pants to dresses these days and has lived in the Olive jumpsuits Jess has made her. She saw some dressy youth jumpsuits on Pinterest and used those ideas as her starting point. Jess made a maxi dress for her little sister and can just imagine these girls walking down the aisle together as flower girls this summer!

Patterns used:
Big Sister: Calendula bodice with woven ties, lengthened bodice and size 14 sleeves; Olive pants.

Little Sister: Olive with a maxi double skirt and a self drafted bodice overlay and lengthened ties.

Fabric used:

Dobby Georgette (Alyssa May Design); rayon knit (Sincerely Rylee

That's it for today! Remember to check in tomorrow morning for more amazing creations, and be sure to stock up on your favorite patterns during our Wedding Week sale! All patterns are 30% off until Sunday, May 19, 2024.
