I recently had the chance to join in the Sewcial BFF Sewing challenge , its a monthly event where you can pair up with your virtual sewing best friend to create an outfit using either the same fabric, or the same dress pattern.
Sewists from all over the world form friendships and get chatting about their special projects. This month, the lovely Becca from Sunflower Seams and I became sewing BFF's. Becca designs for Simple Life Pattern Co, so we decided it would be fun to sew each others patterns using the same fabric range!
We chose a gorgeous new Riley Blake fabric line, Fleur, designed by Sedef Imer. The colours in this range are so pretty, usually the main prints in ranges just grab me, but this time one of the coordinates, Fleur Vines Blue, jumped out and said SEW ME!
Becca designed a beautiful pattern called Wendy, you can find it on the SLPco website here. It has a vintage vibe and lots of options for sleeves, collar and a lovely deep hem. I chose to keep it simple for Ellie's dress, a nice classic, easy wearing style that doesn't date!
If you get the chance to join in a sewing event, even if it's with someone you have never met in real life, I urge you to try it out. Sewing friendships are shared all around the world and can be so much fun to have friends with the same interests!
Fleur, designed by Sedef Imer, can be found in your favourite fabric shops and online stores.
